Sautéed Snow Peas

If you’re looking to add a savory, umami kick to your snow peas then this is a perfect recipe for you! It’s bursting with flavor and has a kick of heat. love this dish over rice or served as a side with chicken or fish.

Ingredients Method

  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds

  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled & thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 10oz fresh snow peas, trimmed

  • 10oz fresh sugar snap peas, trimmed

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce

  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes

  • 4 spring onions, tops trimmed and bottoms sliced







1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Arrange sesame seeds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

3. Toast sesame seeds in oven until light brown and fragrant, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.

4. Add sliced garlic, olive oil and sesame oil to a medium-sized sauté pan. Slowly increase the heat under the pan to medium-high over a period of 5 minutes. By slowly increasing the heat, your garlic will become caramelized and chewy.

5. Add the snow peas and sugar snap peas, along with 1 tablespoon of water, to the sauté pan. Stir vegetables for 2 minutes.

6. Add spinach, oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce and red chili flakes to the sauté pan and stir for 2 more minutes.

4. Add spring onions and toasted sesame seeds to the sauté pan and stir for an additional 1-2 minutes.

5. Serve sautéed peas on a large plate as a side dish.
